Surgery

We proudly offer a full surgery suite with the most up-to-date surgical monitoring devices and anaesthetic machines. Our experienced and skilled registered veterinary technicians guide your pet’s care and recovery every step of the way.

Our patients will typically be provided with a PVP (pre-visit pharmaceutical) for you to administer at home before their stay to reduce anxiety and to reduce the amount of medication they need to be given to induce and maintain a proper plane of anaesthesia.

They will receive a complete exam before surgery and any bloodwork will be reviewed and an anaesthetic plan will be made specific to your pets’ needs. Next, they will receive a pre-anesthetic medication that will include pain control and mild sedatives. Once more relaxed, we will place an IV catheter so they can receive IV fluids during their procedure to support their blood pressure, help maintain hydration and aid in a smooth recovery. We can also provide access to emergency medication in the event they are needed.

The surgery is performed in a sterile environment with the utmost care and attention to detail. It can range from routine spay/neuter procedures to other soft tissue surgeries like lump removals, bladder stone removals, and amputations.

On request, we also have a highly trained orthopedic surgeon who will provide his services at our facility for TPLO, fracture repair, and other specialized surgeries.

Our team will monitor your pet the entire time and will be by their side during recovery. Once awake, you will receive a call from our doctor or technician. Once fully awake, they will receive a small meal and more cuddles as they await your arrival to pick them up.
